Portraits

from Boundaries by Anamosa

lyrics

This conversation is over. Your place is filled. Our lives go on.
Through all the bitterness our last chance failed. All of the portraits painted now burning In my mind.
Finally a last stand taken. One thought plagues my mind,
“What if a fate I've broken?” (Now lost, buried in time.) One fear, that age will break me.
When senses fail and pictures fade. My quest: to search inside.
I've been longing for the notion. The way we feel when all our pieces fit. I've been searching for the reason:
The answers to the question,"Who am I?"
Do you understand my frustration? I've let it all in, But nothing cures the numbness.
Give me a dose of what its like to feel complete.
I've never put faith in something greater, But I will bow before the winds of change.
Without a direction we're nothing, so what do we fight for? One last time. I'll let it all slip by,
But then ill swallow the knife and break the hold.
